Mysterium Duo Biography

We invite you to experience the unique and unusual musical offerings of the Canadian accordion duo of Sir N. Antonio Peruch and Penny Sanborn. The Mysterium Duo’s repertoire extends from Renaissance and Baroque music, to contemporary, film and tango music.
Antonio Peruch is a distinguished award-winning international classical accordion artist, concerto soloist, chamber musician, recording artist, lecturer, researcher, composer, and arranger. Peruch has been knighted by the Republic of Italy for his contributions to Italian music and culture. He has performed before enthusiastic audiences in Canada, the USA, Italy, Mexico, and Cuba. He currently teaches classical accordion at the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels at the University of Calgary’s School of Creative and Performing Arts in Canada.
Penny Sanborn is a PhD graduate student in Transdisciplinary Research in music and education at the University of Calgary, and holds her Master of Music degree in Performance on accordion. She has been privileged to perform with world renowned artists Luciano Pavarotti, Itzhak Perlman, and Renée Fleming, and with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Her projects have been funded by the Canada Council for the Arts, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, and the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. She has performed in Canada, Dubai and Italy.

Vi invitiamo a scoprire l'offerta musicale unica e insolita del duo canadese di fisarmoniche composto da Sir N. Antonio Peruch e Penny Sanborn. Il repertorio del Duo Mysterium spazia dalla musica rinascimentale e barocca, alla musica contemporanea, cinematografica e al tango.
Antonio Peruch è un illustre e pluripremiato fisarmonicista classico internazionale, solista di concerto, musicista da camera, artista discografico, docente, ricercatore, compositore e arrangiatore. Peruch è stato insignito del titolo di Cavaliere della Repubblica Italiana per il suo contributo alla musica e alla cultura italiana. Si è esibito davanti a un pubblico entusiasta in Canada, Stati Uniti, Italia, Messico e Cuba. Attualmente insegna fisarmonica classica a livello triennale e magistrale presso la School of Creative and Performing Arts dell'Università di Calgary in Canada.
Penny Sanborn è dottoranda in Ricerca Transdisciplinare in musica ed educazione presso l'Università di Calgary e ha conseguito un Master in Performance di fisarmonica. Ha avuto il privilegio di esibirsi con artisti di fama mondiale come Luciano Pavarotti, Itzhak Perlman e Renée Fleming, e con la Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra.
